Meet Our Board Members
The Community Senior Center of Bolton, Richmond and Huntington is governed by the following volunteer board of trustees and supported by many member volunteers who provide experience and time directly and on committees.

Jane Vossler
Chair
Jane has lived in Richmond since 1990 and is retired from a career in public school teaching. She finds her work on the program committee very satisfying and especially enjoys coordinating a series of travelogues. She teaches a class in memoir writing. As chair of the board, she works with others to keep the Community Senior Center growing and thriving.
In addition to her work with the Community Senior Center she loves to kayak, garden, and read.

Jeanne Desilets
Vice-Chair
Jeanne was brought up in Hinesburg, VT and attended Champlain Valley Union HS. She went on to UVM, earning a BS in Physical Education and later a degree in Elementary Education. She and her husband Ray built their home in Richmond in 1982 and raised two children. After teaching in Williston for 34 years, she retired to full-time daycare for her first grandchild and later her grandson.
An avid participant in many CSC activities, Jeanne is also a member of the Hale and Hearty Club, and volunteers in her church. She is a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, a women teachers’ organization, and served as its Vermont State President. Favorite pastimes in her active lifestyle include walking, exercising, gardening, cooking, dancing, music, knitting and crocheting, traveling, and playing her ukulele.

Kathy Kort
Secretary
A Huntington resident for over thirty years, Kathy retired in 2014 after more than four decades as a high school special education transition specialist. Her motivation for serving as Board Secretary was to give something in return after the CSC connected her so well with others and helped ease her through her transition into retirement and loss of her spouse.
A resilient advocate for wellness, Kathy enjoys many CSC programs and activities including pickleball, playing the ukulele, and leading Bone Builders in Huntington. She also serves on the Board of Green Mountain Performing Arts Center in Waterbury, is a Friend of the Huntington Library, delivers Meals on Wheels and is involved with activities of Richmond Congregational Church.

George Lam
Treasurer
A Huntington resident since 1995, George grew up in San Francisco and earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Berkeley. He and his wife moved to Vermont to start a family and have never regretted it. George has volunteered on the Huntington school board, Brewster-Pierce PIE, Friday Food Affair and Camp Exclamation Point. He has also been cooking Chinese New Year lunch at Brewster-Pierce for the past 17 years.
George grew up as an avid tennis player but enjoys all racquet sports. He is an active participant in Pickleball and leads the Table Tennis group for the CSC. His goal as treasurer is to provide the board with the necessary information to make sound financial decisions as the CSC continues to grow.

David Blanchard
David grew up in Texas, moved East to go to college and fell in love with New England - its people and landscape. He developed a thriving pottery studio in Richford, Vermont in the ‘70s, was active in Vermont Handcrafters, and served as member and chairman of the board of the Arvin A. Brown Library.
In a somewhat radical change of career he moved to Richmond in 1994 to work at the Pine Ridge School for students with learning disabilities in Williston while earning certification as a special educator. Eventually, in 1997, David became a special educator and later director of the special needs students program at Champlain Valley Union High School.
David has enjoyed playing in the ukulele group sponsored by the CSC and is a regular in the play reading group. Continuing to relish time on the waters and pathways of Vermont, David rows his single scull on the Waterbury Reservoir, paddles his Adirondack pack boat wherever it floats, and cross-country skis and hikes the many inviting trails in and around Richmond.
David is looking forward to being of service to the CSC's mission.

Darryl Smith
Seeking the benefits of a country life, Darryl moved from New Jersey to Roxbury, Vermont in 1986, where he served as the town’s lister for several years. His early career included positions in engineering and marketing in the semiconductor equipment industry. Around 2000, he transitioned into the field of web and database software development and later completed his professional career at the Vermont State Treasurer’s Office and Department of Labor.
Darryl moved to Richmond in 2005 and likes to spend his leisure time hiking and learning about nature and geology. His favorite pastimes also include photography as well as reading, with a particular interest in historical topics. He takes advantage of the CSC’s diverse opportunities to improve his quality of life, and volunteers as leader of the canasta group and activity liaison for Coffee Time and Bone Builders.

Kathie Templin
Kathie first moved to Vermont in 2000 from Kentucky where she was born. After the loss of her spouse and with her children having moved west, she spent 2012-2017 in North Carolina. When her daughter and family moved to Richmond, Kathie soon followed in 2017.
A retired social worker and business manager, Kathie enjoys meeting people and staying active through the opportunities the CSC offers, and has a special interest in developing a transportation program to ensure all seniors can attend the CSC’s programs they enjoy. Her assisting families with transportation as a social worker in UVM’s dialysis units has given her a great deal of experience in this area.
Kathie serves as a Richmond Library Trustee, delivers Meals on Wheels, and is on the Homeowner Selection Committee for Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity. Her favorite activities are walking, hiking, swimming, cooking and traveling.

David Weaver
David's adopted home is Underhill. He’s had a three-decades-long career leading advertising and branding strategy for companies large and small. Born in Iowa, David has lived in Omaha, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, NYC, and Kansas City. That makes Underhill the longest he’s stayed in one place since the town he was raised in (coincidentally the same size as Underhill).
One of the eldest members of Generation X, David is an active member of the Modern Elder Academy, and considers exactly how he’ll spend his “senior years,” rethinking “retirement,” and other meaty topics.
Introduced to CSC in a chance meeting as a board member of Mount Mansfield Community Television, he went to a CSC French conversation group and was hooked.
A lifelong learner, David wears the title of “beginner” proudly. He believes an open mind is the key to vibrancy. Outside of CSC events, you’ll find him reading, writing, listening to music, exercising with his brand new hip, or spending time with his wife Misuk and their beloved wire fox terriers, Beaker and Maslow.
